Arkade Media | October Edition
Arkade Media | October Glossary
Welcome to Arkade Media, the newest division of Arkade Fun. At the heart of Arkade Media is balance. Our goal is to provide a mix of industry news and insights, along with internal updates and monthly highlights from our team. We will cover web3 developments, alpha releases, monthly gaming releases, and much more.
The creation of Arkade Media complements our brand and enhances the Kadena ecosystem. This addition provides advantages not only in terms of networking and marketing, but also aligns with our passion for gaming. With media capabilities, we can obtain media passes for events to promote our brand, showcase our ecosystems, highlight our achievements, and position ourselves for potential revenue streams such as Twitter ad shares, by consistently producing content for various outlets.
Expect to receive 1-2 newsletters monthly. And if newsletters aren’t your thing, we get it. We'll also publish our updates on our Medium page, ensuring you always have access. In future releases, there will be direct rewards and utility for subscribing to our newsletter. So, keep an eye on your inbox, and most importantly, we promise not to spam.
Arkade | Internal October Updates
The past several months have been an interesting time for us at Arkade. We have made some tough decisions, including prioritizing bug fixes and smaller wins over bigger updates and features. Our goal is to provide a good experience to everyone by ensuring fewer bugs and celebrating both small and big achievements. However, we acknowledge that finding a balance between consistency and necessity can be challenging, and it may be noticeable in certain areas of the website. All notable announcements can be found in our Discord/Telegram channels, which you can access through the links provided in this newsletter. In this edition, I will focus on what's to come rather than what has already been built. However, as we continue to refine the structure and format through trial and error, there may be a "Month in Review" section added soon.
October will be a huge month for us at Arkade, and it’s opening up a lot of doors for us both now and in the future.
We have brought on a new team member “Vanjeanty” who works directly alongside Patrick for community outreach, feedback, meeting management, feature testing, and much more. Vanjeanty acts as an executive assistant and touches all areas of Arkade for the easy and complex issues. We are very fortunate and excited to have brought them on and don’t be shy to give them a warm welcome!
Billy the Bull is prepared for his comeback season following a challenging year filled with development obstacles.
As many of you may know, we have transitioned all development from Unity Engine to Unreal Engine 5. The game is being built completely in-house from the ground up. While I have been excited about the idea of a 2D world, the concept of combining 2D and 3D elements is also intriguing, and I believe many of you will enjoy what's to come. Currently, we don't have any sneak peeks to share, as development has become our highest priority in our task management system as of this month. Our overall goal is to provide you with a playable level by the end of the month for feedback. We cannot express enough gratitude for our patient and understanding community who supports us through the various challenges we face. Transparency, regardless of whether the news is good or bad, is what keeps a community together, and we will always maintain that with all of you.
Arkade Leaderboard
Later this month, we've got some super cool plans to level up the user experience on our website. As part of these efforts, we'll be trying out different features. One of the big highlights is the launch of a solid leaderboard. It'll accurately keep track of scores and show off how awesome our top players are.
Starting in January, we'll be adding something new to our leaderboard system called the "Leaderboard Ladder". This feature is gonna shake things up when it comes to quests and challenges on our website. It'll give you the chance to compete in exciting competitions that happen at different times. So, whether you're an experienced adventurer looking for a quick quest or a dedicated player who loves long-term challenges, our Leaderboard Ladder has got you covered. It's gonna make your gaming experience more immersive and dynamic than ever before.
Make sure to keep an eye out for updates on this awesome development by following our official Twitter page. We are excited to share more details with you about the upcoming "electric" announcement 😄 (this is a future pun, I apologize!)

September's Game of the Month and Patrick's October Pick.
Now, for the fun part – my Game of the Month goes to Counterstrike 2. I've spent a lifetime playing CS, and the updated graphics and skin visuals are fantastic. Can't wait to get competitive again, especially with my new blue light glasses!
I know Starfield has an epic story, but I'm all about online PvP and flaunting all the spaceship upgrades I’ve made to others (isn’t that why we love PFPs?).
As for October, it's a challenging decision. Assassin's Creed is undeniably iconic, but my highest level of excitement is reserved for Detective Pikachu Returns. The first game was incredibly enjoyable, and Pikachu's charm is simply irresistible. There's even a rumor going around that Shiny Pikachu is set to make a comeback in the sequel.
TLDR:
September's Game of the Month: Counterstrike 2 (Released on September 27, 2023)
Patrick’s October Pick: Detective Pikachu Returns (Coming on October 6, 2023)
Hope you enjoyed the newsletter! See you next time!
